Chair's Welcome Message

"Leading the Wave"

On behalf of my co-chair, Ravi Adve, and the rest of the Steering Committee I would like to cordially invite you to join us in Toronto in July 2010. We have compiled for you a five-day technical program covering the state-of-the-art in the theory and practice of Antennas, Propagation and Radio Science. The regular technical program is enriched with special sessions covering cutting-edge subjects presented by some of the leading experts in their corresponding fields. The technical program is preceded and followed by a day of short courses and workshops that will expose you to some of the most important recent advances in our field. For you and your family we have put together an exciting social program that includes trips to the most important landmarks and venues in Toronto, major league baseball, a spectacular dinner cruise on Lake Ontario and, of course, an opportunity to visit Niagara Falls, one of nature’s most celebrated wonders. For the children we offer an opportunity to visit the Toronto zoo as well as Canada’s Wonderland (a theme park featuring over 200 attractions and 65 thrilling rides along with a 20-acre water park).

Toronto is one of the most cosmopolitan and livable cities in the word. The city offers literally an infinite variety of activities and entertainment including world-class theaters, Canada’s National Ballet, a symphonic orchestra, museums, sports, elegant shopping malls, and a large network of parks and recreational facilities. The meeting will be held at the Sheraton Centre Hotel, situated in the heart of Toronto, right next to the city hall. This is in the financial and entertainment district of the city, close to some of the most upscale restaurants, shopping malls and cultural sites such as the newly constructed Opera House and the Art Gallery of Ontario. The hotel is connected to PATH, a 16-mile underground network of shops and services including convenient food courts. The Sheraton Centre Hotel is served by a shuttle bus to and from Pearson International airport. Pearson is readily accessible from every corner of the world which will facilitate your trip to Toronto.

It is our privilege to host this meeting for you. We hope that you will find it technically and scientifically satisfying as well as entertaining to you and your family. The members of the Steering Committee, our student volunteers and our conference planners, Three Dimensions, are all looking forward to welcoming you to Toronto!
